'Inspiring a World of Social Brilliance' Conference
            4th June 2010

            Picture
On June 4th in London, the Centre for Social Brilliance launched itself with a BRILLIANT conference full of visionary creators, social change agents, business innovators and transformative players.  Themed 'Inspiring a World of Social Brilliance', it did exactly that!

Everyone who attended the event walked away inspired to be brilliant, knowing they would call brilliance out of everyone they'd meet.  We stepped into a new paradigm of working with the potential of what's there versus the problems and what's not there.  We energised our visions and projects, shared resources, ideas and opportunities and sourced the energy and consciousness of a socially brilliant world!  We saw how to move beyond offering aid and assistance ... to empowering brilliance and leaderful creation in people in transitioning communities and countries.

We were wow'd with social innovators like these who gave us gems like the following ...

Ian Lewis, founder of the Campaign for Adventure www.campaignforadventure.org
"Adventure is about finding and enoying the furthest reaches of human nature.  Possibility is yours.  What you believe you can do, you can do."
            Picture
Elise Klein, founder of the Mali Initiative
            www.mali-initiative.org
showed us this clip from her film with a wonderful Mali visionary saying "Mali is a poor country, but from the heart people here are very rich."  In the last six years, the Mali Initiative has empowered 135 local visionaries in Mali to actualise their visions.

Jensine Larsen, founder of World Pulse
            www.worldpulse.com
Connecting the voices of women all around the world, broadcasting their creative solutions for a better world.  With great emotive presence, she spoke "With every cell of my body, I believe the creative potential of women and girls is one of the greatest untapped potentials in the world."

Cliff Prior, Chief Executive of UnLtd  www.unltd.org.uk
UnLtd's mission is to unleash the energies of social entrepreneurs who can transform the world.  He told us there are 1.7 million social entrepreneurs in the UK, with 238,000 people currently trying to start one.  Primarily, he says, they do it because "they feel they have to do something positive with their life."

What participants had to say about the conference ...

George Halfin    "Thank you so much for organising the Social Brilliance conference on Friday.  It was such a great mix of inspirational people and sessions and I personally got a lot out of being there and am excited about what could open up as a result.  Over the weekend I’ve had a chance to think about what was said when I got up on stage on Friday.  Having had time to reflect I can see that what came out of this experience was the essence of who I am, i.e. I am someone who really enjoys inspiring people to make a difference to their lives, and the lives of others."

Jackie Thoms    "A big thank you for today.  It was an amazing expansion of consciousness – creating clarity and momentum around visions, potential for amazing collaborations and a great sense of the global movement in play and the wonderful deep sense of hope that brings."

Pascale Gibon, Higher Energy    "What an event on Friday!  Even though I was only able to be there in the morning, it was truly inspiring and remarkable."

Genevieve Boast, Emergency Happiness    "I just wanted to write and say how much I enjoyed and got out of the Social Brilliance conference on friday.  I was wowed and amazed by the energy that was created and present by all the amazing people that were there.  Truly inspiring!  The environment that you and Charlie created was very special and I think everyone in the room felt your power both as individuals and as one.  I would love to continue to support and help with the Centre for Social Brilliance in whatever way I can.  I'm also very grateful for the creative session that you gifted me with, helping me to form ideas and courage to take my vision of Emergency Happiness forwards.  There were so many wonderful ideas and gifts of energy and positive intention that were given, I was and still am deeply grateful."
Genevieve even offered a post conference video to say how much she got from the day ...
